Republican Terri Carver for Senate District 9

I have been an aggressive defender of our constitutional rights, especially the 1st and 2nd Amendments
I have been an aggressive defender of our constitutional rights as a State Representative and since I left office in 2022.
I was proud to cosponsor legislation to protect our Constitutional rights:
State Freedom of Conscience Protection Act, (2015) Specifies that no state action may burden a person's exercise of religion
Free Exercise of Religion Act: Specifies that no state action may burden a person's exercise of religion (2016 and 2017)
Parents Bill of Rights: establishes a liberty interest and fundamental right for parents in the care, custody, and control of a parent's child
Can Carry a Concealed Handgun Without a Permit
Allow Concealed Carry on Public School Grounds
Repeal Ammunition Magazine Prohibition. This bill removed the limit on the size of magazines.
Repeal Gun Transfer Background Check and Fee for Private Transfer. For transfers between family members, friends and other non-retail transfers
I also co-sponsored the Public School Hunter Education Seventh Grade Course which allows public schools to provide a hunter education course in seventh grade.
As a State Representative, I voted N0 against ALL bills encroaching on our Second Amendment rights.
“Red Flag” Laws: I voted NO and fought on the House floor against the 2019 “Red Flag” bill (seizing guns from individuals reported to be a “danger” before a court hearing). I also voted to repeal the Red Flag law in 2020.
Since Leaving Office (2023-2025)
As a private citizen, I testified against anti-Second Amendment bills to ban assault weapons or semi-automatic weapons in 2023, 2024, and 2025 (SB25-003). I financially support litigation challenging this unconstitutional assault on our Second Amendment rights.
